Victoria's Blue Velvet
This summer, let’s plan an escape with Victoria Blake.
Meet Victoria, native to Sacramento. Victoria studied ceramics in Portland, OR, and took her sweetheart Tanner with her back to California. Vic has never stopped practicing pottery ever since and expresses her love for simple, raw, and natural clay. Victoria Blake Ceramics has been growing rapidly and you can find her plant pots at local plant shops, ceramic cups in local artisan cafes, and even sake cups in locals’ favorite sushi restaurants.
This small batch of ceramic vessels designed with love and handmade by Victoria. This is her vision:
My vision for the Wave Fragrance X VBC collaboration was inspired by simplicity and elegance. Victoria’s Blue Velvet candle brings a peace that I wanted to express through smooth surfaces and soft color combinations. My process begins with weighing and wedging the raw clay before throwing the clay on a potters wheel. Once dried, trimmed, and fired, each vessel is glazed from the inside out. Adding a thumbprint into the side of the vessel during the throwing phase added the hand-made feel to such an elegant piece. This is where I feel the elegance of Wave Fragrance meets the hand-made craft of Victoria Blake Ceramics.
